The Great Race
Description
The Great Race is a computer adaptation of the card game Mille Bornes that can be played by up to four players. The objective of the game is to drive 600 miles (from Boston to Washington) and first reach the finish line.
In each turn each player gets four cards of which they have to choose one to use or pass. There are three groups of cards: mileage (from 10 to 50 miles), revenge (stop, flat, empty and wreck) and repair (roll, spare, gas and fix). The mileage cards are used to move, the revenge cards are used to halt the movement of the opponents and the repair cards are used to counter the revenge cards. The cards that can be played depends on the player's condition. A mileage card can only be used when the condition is "roll" and a revenge card can only be used on an opponent that is rolling. Revenge cards changes the condition to "stop" and the player must then use the corresponding repair card to start rolling again. Cards are given randomly and if a player gets two of the same repair cards a protection will be given which gives immunity against the corresponding revenge card.
