Kudos to Juice Games for putting a lot of well-spent time and effort into revitalizing the franchise.

Juiced 2's progress in numerous areas is blunted only by the short, uninspired tracks, which can affect the quality of the racing itself - something that's no small matter, I know. I find Project Gotham tracks have done better in giving player bite-sized, drift happy courses, but overall this game is the burst of speed that this genre needs.

Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights is a solid game and while it could have been a little more polished and certainly could have been a bit more refined with the car handing this remains a game which we enjoyed playing here at Futuregamez. Let's hope that it does well enough that Juice Games can continue to push this series further in future.

The first real wave of PS3 street racers is upon us and Juiced 2 is the first off the blocks. It's a fun combination of circuit and drift racing with a very cool online component. The controls are tighter than they are in the 360 version and you will dig the Spook Meter, but the less impressive graphics and a clunky genetic-based leveling-up system may leave you wanting. If you don't feel like waiting around to see what ProStreet or Burnout deliver, Juiced 2 isn't a bad way to get your adrenaline pumping.

Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights has its share of strengths and weaknesses. The track design is generally pretty good and the layout of the Career mode is nice. However, some aspects of the car customization are poor and the controls could have used more tuning. If you love customizing cars and racing them, you'll find some things to like here. But certainly don't expect perfection.

Juiced 2 seems more like an expansion pack to the original than a true sequel. However, it's by far the best of the two. So if you don't own the original, this may be the one to get. For the rest of you, consider this a rental.

Gamestyle
While Juiced 2: Hot Imports Nights does not suffer from the confusion of Need For Speed: ProStreet, overall there is little distance between the two incumbents. Juiced 2 is hampered by the lack of tracks, unrealistic tuning and some bizarre design choices. For Gamestyle any decent street racer must have these core principles firmly in place, and it’s a failing that the glossy presentation cannot hope to overcome.
