Being a huge fan of the franchise, I was waiting for this remake to be released on any hardware that I actually own (or can emulate) for quite a long time. Now it's available for iOS and Android, so I bought it and started gaming. And I should say, mobile version in totally 2D. It has all the 3D cut-scenes from the X360 and PSN version, but no 3D during gameplay - the backgrounds and floor tiles are completely static. The overall style is similar, but not quite... And the whole action feels slower. Take a look:

So, should mobile versions be split, or is it just a subject for trivia?

Oh yes, I think I've seen the screenshots from the handheld releases some time ago, they actually look very nice :)
While I might be wrong, seeing as how the vastly different console versions of the original game are all included under the same heading, there's probably no real reason for a split. I guess.
