Sky Aces is a WWI themed fighter plane game. The game comes with a campaign mode featuring ten featuring ten allied missions and ten German missions. Missions will usually feature such goals as destroying fuel tanks, bridges, or other aircraft. Some missions will find you with allied craft many though showcase your ace solo skills.

The game is controlled by either the mouse or the keyboard, various camera views, including basic first and third person perspectives, are included. Missiles, bombs, and machine gun fire is controlled by the keyboard. The game is not a accurate flight simulator.

The game features a number of historic planes, with different stats, many of which must be unlocked by excellence in the campaign mode:
