From the US PET release submission: "Deducted from 1979 magazine ads - it was released concurrently with Apple and TRS."

The CRPG Addict, in his posting for Datestones of Ryn, also lists a 1979 release year.

The addict mostly relies on Moby itself and Wikipedia for his game dates.
The dumpers over at brutaldeluxe have two different scans of tapes, one having 79 and the other 81. The orderform dated 2/80 at least indicates the game was available that early for all platforms.
