The initial loading screen for level 1 clues you in on the game's back story.

The start of the game. Emergency systems attempt to wake the troopers out of cryo-sleep.

Unfortunately, something goes wrong and only one soldier wakes up. Senior Sergeant Paul Armstrong. aka. You. Hmm, looks like the cryo chamber doubles as a tanning salon.

Before you even have a chance to make coffee, you're attacked by these weird spider-legged maintenance droids. The one in the background is cleverly standing in-between two explosive barrels.

By the time you get to the second level of the ship, enemies come at you in crazy numbers and they're getting uglier and stranger.

I'm hiding. On the floor is one of the Velians' many unfortunate victims.

Spacesuit storage. There are two different armored suits in the game. They give you awesome firepower and good protection against the enemy.

Inside the lighter armored suit. A Velian takes a swing at me.

What the...! This particular mutation consists of a 'male' outer shell, with a 'female' controller riding in its stomach. Shoot it, shoot it now!

Taking a moment to get out of my spacesuit and relax in a lounge area. For some reason, this shot reminds me of the end of '2001'.

Dead enemies slump down in all kinds of positions. This isn't too bad, but some of them are disturbingly sexual.

Sometimes, enemies will fight each other. Here's a flare-up of emotion between two flamethrower units.

A-ha! The heavy powered armour - Complete with four weapons - A walking tank batallion.

The third chapter begins on the Dune-like Velian planet. Atmosphere processors whirr and a vast ship passes overhead.

There are some massive rooms in this game, like the inside of this tower...
