DescriptionStop That Hero! is a single-player fantasy strategy game that puts the player in the role of the villain. The player can summon minions to fight off the assault of heroes and other do-gooders.
Each game session takes only a handful of minutes at most and takes place on a single-screen battlefield with a top-down 2D view. Resource collection is automatic and minions are guided by artificial intelligence instead of being directly controlled by the player.
Players gain resources automatically from the control of structures such as the castle and towers. Resources allow the player to summon minions such as orcs, slimes, warlocks and dragons. Some minions have simple objectives: attack the nearest hero. Others can collect the nearest items or are used to gain control of structures. Each minion has different abilities. For instance, while orcs are relatively quick and can attack heroes that are close to them, slimes leave behind slime trails that slow down heroes, and dragons can launch fireballs that hurt multiple heroes in an area.
Heroes will mostly be interested in destroying or retaking the player's structures, including the castle, but some will also try to track down the nearest minion. Basic village guards can be dangerous in groups, archers can attack from a distance, and powerful knights and wizards can take out even the most powerful minions.
Summoning the right mix of minions for the player's evil army is key. If a hero manages to conquer the castle, the player loses. The player must vanquish all heroes to achieve victory.
