Sherman Chin Lit Kong started game development in 1999 after graduating with an honors degree in Computing from the University of Portsmouth, UK and obtaining his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer status.

Sherman's first game development venture was at Epix Interactive Studios Inc., Delaware, USA. After its closure, he moved on to work for Zreality Inc., North Carolina, USA, as a MMORPG consultant.

In 2002, Sherman was awarded a scholarship by the International Game Developer's Association (IGDA). Sherman's business plan writing skills also won him the 2nd-runner up place in Venture 2002, Malaysia's first nationwide business plan competition organized by McKinsey & Company. The award was presented to him by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

In April 2003, Sherman and his wife founded their own company, Sherman3D Sdn Bhd, a graphic design and multimedia development company specializing in 2D game pixel art outsourcing. Sherman3D was initially funded by the Malaysian government Cradle Investment Programme and was accredited Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status. On the 7th of July 2006, Sherman3D Multimedia Inc. was incorporated in Vancouver, Canada.
