Starting his Sound Designer career in 1998, J.D. currently manages the Audio Department for Paradigm Entertainment - Atari.
As the Audio Director J.D. is directly responsible for the Sound Design, Voice Direction and Music Direction for all of Paradigm's games and currently has developed audio for 19 SKUs on multiple platforms.
Prior to working in video games, in 1987 J.D. launched his music career by signing his first record contract as a studio session drummer for Razors Edge Records. When not on the road touring and gaining invaluable experience from location recording, J.D. was in the studio learning the art and science of Audio Engineering. After a chance meeting in 1992 J.D. moved from Las Vegas to Dallas to be with the future Mrs. Smith and In 1995 was hired at CCCCD.edu as a studio technician. Three years later J.D. was hired by Paradigm Entertainment as a Sound Designer, eventually earning the title Audio Director. During his tenure at Paradigm J.D. some how managed to find the time to become a father and start his family.
