Added description to Assault Suit Leynos 2 · April 5, 2010

Japan-only sequel to Target Earth, Leynos 2 puts you in the cockpit of a giant mecha robot as you scroll and shoot your way through a series of 7 individual missions tied loosely together by a generic sci-fi plot.

The game itself plays as a side-scrolling shooter set in different planets as well as outer space (where you can fly anywhere with your jump-jets). You have a variety of upgradeable weaponry which allow you to shoot anywhere on-screen as well as auto-lock individual enemies, and depending on how well you do on each stage you get a specific rating score that allows you to upgrade and customize your mech.

Added description to Need for Speed: Carbon - Own the City · December 26, 2009

The Nintendo DS receives its version of Need for Speed: Carbon with Own the City, a The Fast and the Furious-themed arcade racer in which you take the role of a novice street racer out to avenge the seemingly accidental death of your older brother. With the aid of his ex-girlfriend and a few friends you'll have to take on all the racing crews of the city to get your answers, who'll only answer to you once you beat them in racing duels.

Winning also allows you to cash in points for new cars, upgrades and racing kits, which become essential for getting the edge over the competition. You can race alone with the aid of your NPC wingmen and uncover the plot behind your brother's murder or race vs multiple opponents via Nintendo Wifi to see who's king of the streets in a variety of racing modes.

Added description to Fireteam 2200 · June 12, 2009

Fireteam 2200 is a tactical wargame set in the 23rd century. You take the role of the leader of a taskforce (or "Fireteam") tasked with undergoing a series of missions.

As with most war games you get to assemble your crew and select your scenario, while the action itself takes place in a top-down map from which you view your deployed units and issue orders such as movement commands, weapon assignations and, of course, who to fire at. You can build a squadron of up to 16 units starting with a base budget that allows you to choose from 30 different combat units and 25 different weapon types.

Features modem head-to-head multiplayer gameplay for up to two players across platforms (meaning an Amiga player can show a DOS player how it's done).

Added description to Conglomerates Collide · May 20, 2009

Conglomerates Collide is a game of multinational corporation management. Or basically, a monopoly sim. You take the role a high-ranking executive in charge of company acquisitions and your objective is to acquire the most companies in the market in order to propel you to the role of chairman of the board and defeat the opposing corporations.

You start the game with a base capital of 20 million dollars and through each turn you must decide whether to swallow companies or not depending on their current worth, which is determined by the ever changing market conditions. The trick is that you are not alone in the game as other corporations are on the hunt to acquire successful companies and it's your job to grow enough each year/turn so that you can take the poor workers away from the other corporations and ingest them into your own money-making monsters instead of the other way around. Remember! This is a game of multinational conglomerates so the bigger and badder the better.

Features 3 modes of play: single player, vs computer and vs human opponents (up to 4-players hot-seat). Uses a simple text-based interface with small still graphics to commemorate events such as acquisitions and such.

Added description to Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling Dash: Sekai Saikyō Tag · June 12, 2008

An updated version of Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling, Dash updates the character roster and adds minor cosmetic touches to the mix such as wrestler introductions and new character artwork. The biggest addition however is the inclusion of a 4-player royal rumble mode and the ability to perform team-up moves in the tag matches.

The game casts you as a wrestler of your choice in the official Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling league and pits you against the other featured wrestlers in grappling matches. As in the original you get to pick between several game modes including: Tournament, Championship (single or tag) Vs, Team (with the new 4-player variant) and Training.

Added description to Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling · June 12, 2008

Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling is a wrestling game based on the Zen-Nihon Pro Wrestling league and features the likeness of their most famous stars at the time.

Following the template laid by the classics of the genre, the game casts you as any of the 16 wrestling stars and then throws you to the ring to grapple the hell out of your opponent until one of you emerges victorious. You can attack your opponent with several moves (unique to each character) and upon "locking-on" by getting too close to the other wrestler you can execute grapples and throws.

The game uses 2D graphics from a heightened camera view and includes a plethora of game modes including single player Championship and Tournament modes (with single or Tag variants for both), 2 Player Vs., Team Battle, and a Training in which you can learn the basics of the game.

Added description to Cosmic Wars · June 12, 2008

Cosmic Wars takes you back to the Gradius universe as the 650-year long alliance between the Gradius empire and the Bacterions shatters and war breaks out again. The difference this time is that instead of fighting from the cockpit of your Vic-Viper starfighter you'll now be taking the commander's chair and take strategic control of your entire fleet.

The game is a turn-based strategy game in which you must first assemble your armada and then take them into outer space to defeat the enemy fleet. You view the action from a top-down galactic map and success in each phase rewards you with further cash which you can use to buy more ships. The game will continue until the enemy fleet is obliterated (or yours).

The game doesn't include a campaign, but instead provides you with a scenario designer from which you select the AI difficulty, which side you will take (you can play as either the Gradius empire or the Bacterions) the map you'll play and away you go. Features single or 2-player Vs gameplay.

All games feature small tweaks like infinite continues and difficulty settings, but are otherwise faithfully recreated from their arcade counterparts.

Gathering weapons and ammunitions is also mandatory, as Rambo's trusty knife is not going to cut it against all those Vietnamese and Russian soldiers.

Added description to Pu•Li•Ru•La · May 19, 2008

Pu-Li-Ru-La is a psychedelic side-scrolling arcade beat 'em up set in the magical land of Radishland. As the story goes, some evil magical entity has stolen the keys of time for the towns in Radishland, freezing time and turning every animal and creature into evil magical contraptions. Only Zac and Mel, empowered with their "invented magic sticks" are able to escape the curse and must thread through Radishland turning all the monsters back into their original form and recovering the keys of time.

Gameplay-wise the game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up in which you control your character in a 2.5D isometric plane as he clears each stage by beating the many wacky enemies with his stick and a few magic spells that are randomly selected whenever you start the game. At the end of each stage there is a harder "boss" creature you must defeat and upon doing so you proceed to the next stage.

The game is notable for its surreal graphic design, featuring digitized graphics merged with hand-drawn sprites and featuring mostly colorful nonsensical graphics. Features single player or co-op two-player gameplay modes.

Added description to Over the Hedge · March 22, 2008

A portable adventure game based on the animated movie of the same name and which chronicled the adventures of a group of animals in their struggle against a recently-built housing development.

Playing as either RJ, Hammy or Verne you'll have to complete several incursions into the human dwellings to steal food, supplies and sabotage further housing developments.

Each character has individual strengths and weaknesses and in many missions you'll have to alternate between each character to successfully complete the level.

As a unique feature the game displays the standard 3rd person perspective on the top screen while the lower screen features a top-down view which allows you to better scan the levels for traps and items, both rendered with fully polygonal graphics.

Features a single player campaign and a wireless multiplayer mode with a two-player mode in which two players compete to clear out a level of food.

As expected for the genre, the game pits your selected character against a series of opponents in best-of-three-round matches, with your objective being to deplete your opponent's health bar with your basic attacks, special moves (triggered by specific control motions) and super moves (which rely on a power gauge). All the characters in Ninja Master's fight with their weapon of choice, but you can freely choose to put your weapon away and go mano-a-mano. This does not have a major impact on speed or attack power, but changes the movesets significantly, even changing the way basic attacks work.

Your objective as usual is to deplete your opponent's health bar within the time limit by using your basic attacks and special moves (triggered by specific controller motions) while avoiding his moves and attacks.

Unique to Aggressors of Dark Kombat is the combination of traditional side-scrolling beat 'em up elements, meaning characters can freely move in an isometric space instead of being restricted to a single plane of movement. Weapons and throw-able items are usually thrown into the arena by the crowds and you can pick them up and wield them for added damage. Additionally, matches are 1-round only affairs, with an extended multi-layered health bar that allows for longer rounds than usual.

Added description to Hoshi o Miru Hito · January 11, 2008

In the far future, the apocalypse has come and gone. Now people leave peacefully in rural cities making the best of the advanced technology that survives and trying to win back the world day by day. Ark City, the crown jewel of technological advances, has managed to put back into operation a super computer capable of taking control of every aspect of civilization, right down to weather and mind control. This does not bode well for the people of the world, so you as an ESP-gifted warrior take it upon yourself to journey to Ark City and get rid of this threat.

Hoshi o Miru Hito is a role-playing game based on the earlier Psychic City by the same developer, in which you navigate your party (composed of you and three other ESP-wielding heroes you can find) in a top-down world map, chat with NPCs in towns, buy weapons and armor, and finally journey into dungeons to gain clues that help you in your journey.

Combat whisks you away from the top-down perspective to a battle view in which you see your opponents and heroes in a first-person perspective, and assign actions in turns, with the ESP powers taking the place of magic spells.
