The company is founded in Switzerland by five game design alumni from the Zurich University of Arts: Mischa Geiser, Yasemin Günay, Ralf Mauerhofer, Jasmin Widmer and Binan Woll, after the German developer and publisher Daedalic Entertainment gives the fives Kobolds a publishing deal for what would become Journey of a Roach.
