Overview edit · view history

SUZAK (朱雀) was a small development studio based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. It was established in June 2000 as a subsidiary of TYO, and was headed by Human Entertainment veteran Masahiro Yonezawa for its entire existence. The studio produced a large number of titles under contract with numerous publishers including Nintendo, Namco Bandai, and Jaleco, including several titles in major Nintendo franchises like F-Zero.

SUZAK gained independence from TYO in April 2009 through a management buyout, but would ultimately declare bankruptcy just a few years later. Bankruptcy proceedings began on August 17, 2012.

The company's name derives from Suzaku, the Japanese name for the vermilion bird of Chinese mythology, Zhuque.
