The company's name was changed to GFI Russia on 2nd August 2006 because the parent company GFi company wanted to unite all studios under the GFI brand. The new name for ZAO MiST land South was determined by a poll carried out on Absolute Games portal. Gamers were allowed to vote their favourite name. The options were GFI RUS, GFI Moscow, GFI MSK, GFI Center, GFI Greentown and GFI Russia. GFI Russia was chosen with a 31,5% vote.
