Overview edit · view history

Hulabee Entertainment was founded in July 2001 by Shelley Day and Ron Gilbert. The company got into trouble when Shelley Day used forged Letters of Intent and other false documents to obtain loans from Asia Europe Americas Bank in Seattle, supposedly for the purpose of financing for the transfer of part of her interest in Hulabee Entertainment to Disney Interactive and/or Vivendi Universal Publishing. When Day failed to repay the loans, the bank contacted the two big companies and found that they had no agreement to purchase an interest in Hulabee.

About $1.5 million was used toward purchase of a so-called $3 million "dream house" on Mercer Island off the Washington coast. She was sentenced to 30 months in prison and five years of supervised release for her conviction on charges of bank fraud. That also meant the end of the company.
