PyroTechnix, Inc. (formerly Computer Presentations, Inc.) was based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1987, it originally worked in imaging and multimedia software. The company moved into games ca. 1994, developing 3D graphics technology for use in other companies' games. The company was acquired by 7th Level in February 1996 and took over the development of Return to Krondor, a project started at 7th Level. The new owner sold PyroTechnix to Krondor publisher Sierra in December 1997. The company was shut down in February 1999 as part of corporate-wide downsizing that also shuttered Yosemite and Synergistic.
