Overview

KOEI Co., Ltd. was first established on July 25, 1978 at Imafuku-cho, Ashikaga City. For the next two years they commenced PC sales and development of special-order business software. KOEI maintains operations in Japan, the U.S., Canada, China, Korea and Taiwan. The company employs over five hundred people worldwide, with the a total capital of 8,977,000,000 Yen (as of Mar. 2001). Their first major success was when they published Nobunaga's Ambition in March 1983, which in the following years won many national and international awards.

KOEI aims to become the world's #1 Entertainment Content Provider. This is to be achieved by (1) create entertaining, original games in a multitude of genres to expand our fan base in all age groups; (2) Discover new markets through the integration of various entertainment media (books, music CDs, accessories, etc.) and (3) Promote internationalization within the company; increase our share in foreign markets by placing a strong emphasis on product localization.

After 15 years of service to the gaming world, KOEI's continuing success has made KOEI a well respected worldwide brand for both strategy and simulation games.

But to their fans, KOEI will always be renown and remembered for historical strategy games such as the Nobunaga's Ambition Series, Romance of the Three Kingdom Series, the Encharted Waters Series and much more.
