Richard Hilleman has been working for Electronic Arts since 1982, where he was one of the first employees. He is responsible for building the EA Sports brand, and has been involved with the creation and the general creative view of the original Madden Football game. As an avid hockey player in his youth, he also worked on many of the EA hockey games.
He held various roles and was first credited as a producer in 1989 for Indianapolis 500: The Simulation. In the nineties, Hilleman was promoted to senior management. Currently, he works in the internal University at Electronic Arts on specialized education for Producers and Development Directors. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
