The game's configuration options

There are two gameplay modes which change the degree of difficulty

The game has an anomated introduction which sees Count Dracula asleep in his coffin having dreams in flashback. Then he wakes up

Anoother scene from the introduction. This is Igor, he's Dracula's aide and appears in the main game screen to offer hints.

The first location in the game is Dracula's room The cursor changes when the player finds a puzzle. In the lower left the SG is a link to the Strategy Guide

Still in location one. Some game elements are shown in a window like this puzzle. We can't do anything here yet

Dracula's father was a vampire hunter Here Dracula has acquired his father's Book of the Order of the Dragon which gives historic background special powers

Location two - outside the castle The game has static scenes like this whenever a player moves from one location to another for the first time.

A Hidden Object element. Here Igor has been used to locate the last item. There's usually a reward for completing these scenes

A lock puzzle. The player must deduce which keys fit which locks by studying their profiles. Not seen this kind of puzzle before

The crypt Lots to do here including rebuild Dracula's coffin. The inventory shows we are collecting three groups of items that will help solve separate puzzles

We've won an award!

An old favourite. Here the player turns the dials to get the coloured blocks grouped correctly

Puzzles can be skipped if necessary

The strategy guide has sixty nine pages and contains details on the game's six chapters and the bonus chapter. This is the General Tips page, note some puzzles are hidden if you drink blood
