Description of the game

This real time-tactic-game called “Chicago 1930” captivates you to the time of prohibition, when the battle between police and mafia saw its golden age.

Chicago 1930 impresses with very detailed and varying backdrops offering dark courtyards and dubious brothels as well as monumental buildings of large towns. Embedded in the atmosphere of mafia-like activity as well as the style of the thirties, you have to succeed in procuring the leadership of the city to “your” side, always being conscious about possible ambushes.

Besides you have the choice between mafia and police. This decision influences the game play crucially:

With the police it is your job to clear up crimes at the scene of their happening, as well as protecting important persons from crooks or busting mafia-gangs. You have to track down and interrogate witnesses and collect information in order to finally get onto the mafia as a result from your razor-sharp considerations. Spielbeschreibung

Das Echtzeit-Taktik-Spiel Chicago 1930 entführt dich in die Zeit der Prohibition, als der Kampf zwischen Polizei und Mafia seine Hochphase erlebte.

Chicago 1930 besticht durch eine sehr detaillierte, abwechslungsreiche Kulisse, mit dunklen Hinterhöfen, zwielichtigen Bordellen und monumentalen Großstadtbauten bietet. Stets auf der Hut vor einem Hinterhalt und eingebettet eine Atmosphäre mafiösen Schaffens muss es dir gelingen, „deiner“ Seite die Herrschaft über die Stadt zu verschaffen.

Dabei hast du die Wahl zwischen der Mafia und der Polizei, was einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf das Gameplay hat: Mit der Polizei musst du Verbrechen an frischen Tatorten aufklären, wichtige Bürger der Stadt vor Ganoven schützen und Mafiabanden ausheben. Du musst Zeugen aufspüren und verhören und Informationen sammeln, um schließlich durch messerscharfe Überlegungen der Mafia auf die Schliche zu kommen. Oft kommt es zu einem spektakulären Showdown, wenn die Verbrecher schließlich gestellt sind und sich mit Baseballschlägern, Schrotflinten und Tommy-Guns wehren.

Eine ganz andere Herausforderung stellt sich dir in der Mafia-Kampagne: Um sich nicht nur gegen die Polizei, sondern auch gegen rivalisierende Banden durchzusetzen, bedarf es harter Bandagen und schlagkräftiger Argumente.

Aber auch hier gilt es, umsichtig zu handeln: Du musst die Passanten, die Zeugen deiner Schandtaten geworden sind, zum Schweigen bringen, kluge Taktiken und Hinterhalte für überlegene Banden aushecken und dabei immer die Sympathie der Bevölkerung im Auge behalten.

Jeder Stadtteil bietet dir neue Möglichkeiten und neue Ressourcen. Du findest Waffenläden, Trainingseinrichtungen und vieles andere mehr. Die Story versetzt dich direkt in die Rolle der Drahtzieher. Die Charaktere, denen du befiehlst, lassen sich in ihren Fähigkeiten im Spielverlauf immer weiter verbessern. Sorge dafür, dass aus deinen Leuten ein Team von Spezialisten wird. Nur so kannst du dich im Kampf um Chicagos Straßen und Hinterhöfe behaupten. Stell dein Team und dessen Ausrüstung mit Bedacht zusammen und denke immer daran: Pro Mission kannst du allenfalls fünf deiner Leute entsenden.
