N.O.V.A.: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance
- N.O.V.A.: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance (2009 on iPhone, 2010 on iPad, webOS...)
Description
N.O.V.A.: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance is a side scrolling platform shooter. It is the 2D version of the smartphone game with the same name and tells the same story about the elite soldier Kal Wardin who is called out of retirement and has to save the world from an alien threat. The game starts out at a space station and further settings include jungles, icy mountains and a space city.
The game plays like other run and gun games with the player moving around on foot and shooting at the different varieties of aliens. The game uses an auto-aim system that automatically targets enemies as they appear. Starting out with an assault rifle, shotguns, plasma guns and rocket launchers can also be found as well as grenades. There are also unlockable special abilities such as a grappling hook. In addition to the regular on-foot-levels there are sections that changes the gameplay a bit such as flying with a jetpack and remote controlling a robot.
