They Live to Destroy!

They Live to Destroy! is a free VR game with an exaggerated humorous 1980's horror ambience where players build and manage a science institute on an island. Through the construction of buildings and upgrades, and the management of resources, engineers are acquired as a resource to unlock new buildings and upgrades, and generate resources. Once the basic infrastructure is up and running, up to 40 Kaiju monsters who pass by the island every now and then can be tamed and captured. All collected monsters are stored in a catalog. They have different statistics and levels that can be upgraded.

With a few monsters a campaign battle can be started as the player plans a path on a map with hexagonal tiles. A city is destroyed by capturing a number of waypoints, but on the way other monsters are encountered. After the planning phase the battles are played out automatically, but the player can enter the city with a first-person view and watch the events acting as a photographer snapping pictures. Next to the main campaign battle there are online battles against other players.
