An English PAL version of the game for the European market with the title Polaroid Pete and an official license from Polaroid was planned, but eventually cancelled. The European publisher JVC Music Europe closed down prior to the release and the game was never officially released. However, copies were already sent out to gaming magazines and websites and those have been discovered.
Title
The title Gekibo is a portmanteau of Gekisha Boy (translation: Photograph Boy).
