IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles

What could be better than more missions and planes for the critically acclaimed IL-2 Sturmovik? Well, not a lot really. Lucky for us, Oleg Maddox and his team at Maddox Games have been busy beavering away at The Forgotten Battles, the official add-on for IL-2 Sturmovik.

Following on from the recent upgrade (which added 10 new flyable aircraft!), The Forgotten Battles takes place on both the Finnish and Hungarian fronts of World War 2, as well as limited skirmishes over both Ukraine and Poland. A multitude of new flyable aircraft, as well as enemy and allied aircraft are planned (including both the Finnish and Hungarian Air Force), as well as a revision of the 3D modeling for ground buildings. The prettiest flight sim yet just got prettier!

Players who enjoyed the cooperative multiplayer in IL-2 need not worry. A total of 10 new cooperative multiplayer missions are included over both the Finnish and Hungarian fronts, offering a unique challenge to those who LAN or play online.

IL-2 made Christmas for many of us last year - and happily Santa is making a return visit this year with The Forgotten Battles in his bag.

FAST FACTS:
Fact: Kournikova and Sturmovik - Both Russian, both pretty. Only one of them seems capable of winning things.
