Trivia

Cover

For the first time in the series the cover art favoured fantasy over cartoon style that could be seen in the earlier games.

Conversions

As for all conversions of Mastertronic titles other programmers than the author itself carried them out. However "Stormbringer" was the first (and last) in the series of Magic Knight that was ported to 16-bit machine. Andrew Shore did the job porting the title to Atari ST. David Jones liked it but he commented in Retro Gamer 27 that if he had done himself he would have added a lot more as the ST could handle all the things the Spectrum couldn't.

The ST version advertised that conversions of "Spellbound" and "Knight-Tyme" would follow but neither materialised.

The fifth game in the series

However the fifth installment of Magic Knight's adventures didn't appear, David Jones was looking to wind up the story by moving the character back to the ancient times and revealing his or rather her true identity. The game was intended to shift the series to the Atari ST as the main platform.
