Inventive torture screens - pity about the rest of it.

The Good
The colourful, detailed graphics and the torture screens which involve you working out a way to save a friend from horrific death on inventive torturing equipment. It's almost worth letting the pal die just to see the hilariously gory results.

The Bad
The main problem with the game is that you can be walking along quite happily when suddenly the music stops and the screen goes funny. It doesn't take you long to realise the game's crashed, but there really isn't anything you can do to stop it happening again. You just have to switch the computer off and re-load the game from scratch. But when every play results in the game crashing it isn't long before you toss the cassette in the bin. Another problem is the platform levels. They are one-direction and soon start to become monotonous. Graphics apart, they're nothing special, and they soon become frustratingly difficult. It seemed the makers of this game were more interested in what the game looked like rather than how it played.

The Bottom Line
Clyde Radcliffe, a little furry alien, must rescue his friends from the clutches of torture-equipment-loving demons. This involves you making your way along a horizontally-scrolling environment, using Clyde's fiery breath to eliminate any enemies in your path. Later levels involve swimming underwater and flying on a broomstick. After every two horizontally-scrolling levels there is a screen in which you must work out a way of defeating sabotaging the torture equipment and saving one of your friends from a gruesome end.
