Trivia

Datadisks

There are two expansion disks available:

  • Falcon Operation: Counterstrike
  • Falcon Operation: Firefight

Each of the mission disks requires the full version of the original game. Additionally, the first mission disk bugfixes some issues eg. landings have become much easier (as reported in Compute! Magazine)

Cancelled ports

The game was originally created for Macintosh and DOS and later on was supposed to be ported on many platforms. However, after Amiga, Atari ST and PC-98 versions (the latter was titled "F-16 Fighting Falcon 2") and released much later Amiga CDTV version, most of the planned ports did not make it even to the development stage. Sega Genesis that was supposed to support TeleGenesis Modem peripheral was planned but never released. SNES version also did not go any further than plans. Atari Jaguar version went into development but eventually it was cancelled.
