Team Fortress Classic really is a Classic

The Good
Awesome. Team play has never been better, with so much variety of playing and the sheer fun of invading an enemie's base, no game/mod has yet to capture this, although some have come close, like Unreal Tournament, but TFC is still king, even though its a modification for Half-Life. I would go into detail, but the main point is to choose a character class, each one with abilities disadavantages (an example is the Medic which is fast and can heal players but is weak) and capture the opponent's flag/keycard and bring it back to base for a point. There are also other variations. If you have the game of the year version of HL, you already have it, and can play it as soon as you get the patch in Configuration when you boot up HL. In case you got the earlier HL version, go to www.teamfortressclassic.com to download it for free. It is worth your time and tons of people play, so what are you waiting for? Play it!

The Bad
Sometimes there are some pretty laggy spots sometimes in the game on older computers.

The Bottom Line
Capture the Flag team gameplay with different character types.

One word summary: ADDICTIVE

The Good
I love being able to play in a network environment against people around the world. Gameplay is fun and addictive. You can be any of a number of characters, from a sniper to a guy with a huge chaingun. Like blowing the crap out of stuff? Be a demolitions expert. Capture the flag scenarios make this the digital version of what I would call an extreme paintball. Unlike Counterstrike, your character regenerates right away after death, providing infinite lives, and just adding to the addictiveness of this outstanding game. Multiple maps (as well as custom maps designed by users) keep the game entertaining no matter how much you play. A MUST for any avid military buff.

The Bad
There wasnt much I didnt like. Sometimes if somebody on the server has a high ping the game will lag pretty bad, but otherwise gameplay is usually smooth as a baby's bottom.

The Bottom Line
As i said before...Virtual Extreme Paintball. You do the math.

A game not meant to be realistic

The Good
The first impression for the game, looking at nine-classes at once in the VGUI menu gives you the feeling of amazement to want to try them all at once.

The Bad
After an hour gameplay becomes seriously dull.

Gameplay is seriously non-demanding, you die, wait 2 seconds, press space, and POOF! you are back. Life is not important in the game, rendering the medic useless, and teamwork is rarely seen in the game, just get as many frags as possible.

Graphic models are disappointing when you are a counterstrike fan.

The Bottom Line
Non-realistic(probably programmers didn't want it to be) trash??
