Certificate
The box contained a certificate "For bravely adventuring through Castle Wulf and defeating The Necromancer". If you filled in your name and the message from the end of the game, and sent it to The Bitmap Brothers per mail, the certificate would be approved and stamped.
Development
The development of the game was based on two special tools created on Atari ST. One of them was called "Adventure Level Editor" and the other ACL. The former was a level building tool for adventure games and the latter a programming language. ALE was used to create levels and ACL to make all things work together. Levels in ALE were initially created as a two-dimensional maps with all the dimensions of the room and interconnections. When room was created it was converted to 3D and then all the graphics were added manually. ACL was used to associate objects in the map with interactions and event that can be performed with them. Sales
Cadaver is the acclaimed developer’s first attempt of a puzzle-oriented game. It isn’t very surprising that it’s also been their last attempt: it was no commercial success.
Saving
To save your game, you had to pay a price: Some of the coins you collected along the way were subtracted. The required amount rose with each subsequent save. Thus, you had better think twice before investing your precious coins.
