This configuration screen appears before the game loads. The SteamGuide is not written in English. The Manual opens a browser window
thumbnail
The menu screen. There is no title screen for this game. Each address is a level within the game
thumbnail
The 'How To Play' menu option is a video which takes around three minutes to work through. The game is animated and each text block remains in place until the SHOT key, 'Z' is pressed
thumbnail
This screen from the 'How To Play' section shows Penryn after she has thrown her swords, I did not manage to trigger this in normal play
thumbnail
The game configuration options mainly adjust the sound but if a gamepad is connected it looks as though it can be configured here too
thumbnail
Each address in the list is another level in the game
thumbnail
The Practice Area. The power meters on the left show that repeatedly using the swords, which are the primary weapons, greatly increases their power
thumbnail
The Practice Area. Pressing F9 toggles enemy fire and this makes a great difference. Both the enemy and Penryn seem to be invulnerable in this area
thumbnail
This is the first playable level, all others are locked at this point
thumbnail
The start of the first level shows a dim flight over some sort of cityscape, then Penryn appears and the fighting starts
thumbnail
As progress is made through the level Penryn creates some sort of log in the right column. When playing I never noticed this. I've no idea what the yellow triangles are either but I suspect they are not good
thumbnail
I died. Yes I'd like to continue. No I do not count this as cheating.
thumbnail
Being resurrected did not do much good.
thumbnail
After dying there were three or four screens of text which was revealed one sentence at a time, I had to press 'Z' to advance
