The game's online servers which were hosted on GameSpy were scheduled to shut down on 31 May 2014 in the wake of GameSpy's total closure.
On 22 July 2014, the Steam version was updated with Steamworks multiplayer. Retail serial keys were configured to be redeemed on Steam.
Release history
Retail versions of Alexander were not sold in US stores, as the game was only available as an online download in that market.
