Gothic III Strikes European GoldPiranha Bytes announces European gold status for its upcoming RPG.

September 13, 2006 - In a short posting on its website, developer Piranha Bytes announced today that its upcoming RPG Gothic III has reached the near-mythical Goldmaster Status in Europe.

According to the posting, the game reached gold status at 2:20 in the morning and was promptly shipped to Sony Austria for replication. The game is slated for release in certain European countries on October 13th.

Gothic III provides a living world where the players can freely choose the way they want to play; whether exploring the world and enjoying its rich and enchanted atmosphere or following a darker path, and even ultimately destroying it. Every choice and action the player makes will directly echo and affect the world of Gothic, creating a life-like environment and allowing for complex character interaction.

[October 27, 2006, 11:39 am ET] - Aspyr sends word that the North American edition of Gothic 3 is gold, and gamers can begin having their time devoured by Piranha Bytes' RPG sequel on November 13. Here's the announcement, which also pimps a contest:

AUSTIN, Texas – October 27, 2006 – Aspyr Media confirmed today that its highly anticipated PC RPG Gothic 3 will ship on November 13 in North America, ensuring that it lands on store shelves by November 20.

You have saved the island Khorinis from the forces of evil in Gothic I and Gothic II. Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland. Invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom.
