The game's title screen
There's a cute animation at the start of the game showing different Sims and their houses
The main menu
Starting a new game means naming the new town. The game allows quite a decent name length in this field
The game starts with the mayor telling the town's story, how it was once happy but then it's creator left and it went downhill. At every screen the player must click to continue
Having heard the mayor's story and how we are going to save the town it's time to create a character. Lots of options, each explained by a separate tooltip which quickly becomes a pain.
The player arrives in their town at the station. The first thing to do is to go and see the mayor, here the game takes over and walks us there
No screenshot collection would be complete without this. The player will see it a lot, on exit from a building and on entrance to a building
Still very early in the game. We've met the mayor and she shows us to our house - except there isn't a house here. Better build one then.
The house is built by dragging and dropping pre-made structures. WASD keys rotate the pieces, Holding the scroll button while moving the mouse rotates the house
Building a house. There is a limit on the number of pieces that can be used. Flowers and ornaments make the house cuter as shown by the pink in the hexagon in the top left
Key to the game are Essences. These can be collected from trees such as these apples, or you can fish for them. The player holds the left mouse button to grab the tree and shake it.
The player builds themselves a workshop and then uses blocks to build a chair. This shows the ghost mode which serves as a guide for the placement of blocks.
Inside our home, just placing the chair made in the workshop.
In the early stages the game is full of helpful tips. Up to this point it's really been a kind of tutorial for building houses and making stuff. The quests start now.
Exploring the town. Whenever anything interesting or game relevant is found the Inspect button appears. Click that to find out more. This says that the ticket machine is broken and empty
The new location in the background is the town's hotel. Clicking on the characters backpack brings up this inventory carousel.
The first task. The mayor wants a podium. Four red apple Essences will be needed to make it the right colour. If it's not painted the game will not allow the player to show it to the mayor
The mayor loved the podium and, because she loves apples, we're decorating the town hall. This makes her very pleased and we get Happy essences to add to our collection
There are parts of the game world that need to be unlocked
The game's configuration options
Internet play was not possible when tried June 2014.
This is the game's maximum resolution. It can be changed in-game.
