ZX Spectrum screenshots

The game does not have a pretty load screen. It loads quickly and displays the game menu straight away.
thumbnail
After the 'Get ready' and 'Level 1' screens the game starts
thumbnail
level 1 is about dodging columns and shooting down waves of enemies. Wave 1 is an arc of flying saucers
thumbnail
The columns are a pain but it is possible to kill most enemies while flying above them
thumbnail
After wave 1 has been cleared the player mus face a series of snowball like things
thumbnail
Wave 2 is another arc of saucers followed by another round of snowballs
thumbnail
Wave 3 is saucers again but in a different formation, again when these are cleared there's another barrage of snowballs
thumbnail
Wave 4 are the jellyfish. These come in high, drift around the bottom of the screen among the columns and rise up underneath the plane. They're followed by more snowballs
thumbnail
Wave 5 is more saucers in a tight formation that come at the plane very quickly
thumbnail
When they are this densely packed together its hard to shoot them fast enough.
thumbnail
That's the last life gone

The hi-score screen. letters are chosen via the left / right keys and are selected by pressing FIRE. I found this hard to control with a joystick ...
thumbnail
... which is why none of these hi-score entries says MOBY. From here the player is taken back to the main menu
