Trivia
Graphics
The base game did not have 3D acceleration, but this was later added through a patch. Papyrus supported Sierra's short-lived Rendition 3D standard, which was not supported by all 3D cards at the time. One year later, the game was re-released with 3D support as CART Racing.
Sales
Only about 180,000 units were sold, which was setback for Papyrus, as their previous game, NASCAR Racing, sold over 1,000,000 units.
Tracks
The Homestead, Rio de Janeiro, and Indianapolis tracks are not included because the game is based on the 1995 CART season. Some of the tracks were changed in the 1996 season, and Papyrus also did not have a license agreement with the Indianapolis Speedway.edway.
