Scrap Collector
Description
This is a collaboration between Mark Essen (messhof) and Jonatan Söderström (cactus) to create two games independently from each other, based on a single concept. Scrap Collector is Essen's take on it, while Söderström created Air Pirates.
The game is divided into two different gameplay parts. It starts inside a volcano where the player controls a scrap collector. Using platformer elements, the little man has to collect pieces of scrap and avoid falling into lava. By reaching the ladder to the left or the right side of the screen, the second part of the game can be accessed. It starts with a store where the player can exchange the scrap for ships, change the ship's paint colour, or repair, sell or upgrade it. In this portion, the flying ship needs to take on different enemies, engage targets and steal their ships. It is possible to return to the volcano to collect more scrap to gain a better craft and purchase upgrades.

Trivia
Along with the release of the game, the developer also sold 8x10" hand carved linoleum block prints with a graphic of the volcano from the game, with archival quality ink on various materials. Every piece of scrap came with its own number as well as a disc with bonus content.
