Bonaparte
Description
Bonaparte is a turn-based strategy game in which the player takes the role of a European nation (France, Prussia, Russia, Britain or Austria) and tries to become the most powerful one. The game starts in 1789 and ends at the latest 70 years later. Every turn represents one month and the ruler has to think about a lot of things: Diplomacy, Military, Economy, Research and Reign.
In every of these categories the player has a lot of settings which influence a lot of further statistics, e.g. high taxes decrease the satisfaction of the population. When they really hate the player this can result in a revolution or even a successful assassination.
Of course the player has not only to think of the own population and diplomacy to progress in the game - war was an important part in these times. When he chooses to start a war with another nation he can order his troops to attack a province. His only possibility to influence the outcome is to choose one of four tactics beforehand - the rest is automatically calculated by the computer. The battle presentation is abstract with differently coloured arrows.
