Contests

After release, Nintendo periodically held themed contests over their Wi-Fi Connection service. These contests gave players a theme to build a game around and Nintendo would feature the best ones for anyone to download. These contests have since been discontinued in all regions after a brief run (Early 2011 in Japan and North America, Late 2010 in Europe).

Developers

Some well known developers have tried their hand at creating microgames. Ron Carmel, Yoshio Sakamoto, Daisuke Amaya, Masahiro Sakurai, Edmund McMillen. Matt Bozon. Todd Lewis, and Alex Neuse are some of the developers who have made contributions.
