Dragons are rare occurrences in the Kohan campaign. They are tough opponents and often hoard treasure or effect the story plot.

Each city needs to be upgraded to provide resources or better units. Each building upgrade may also be further upgraded for maximum effect.

When your kingdom consists of many cities, it may be quite tiresome to develop them one at a time. This micro-management screen helps quicken the pace in developing those cities.

The different color background represent "zones" which interact with units. For example, if the light green zone of a unit crosses another zone of an enemy unit or city, combat will initiate.

If you want to move your units, you can see how they will be positioned at the destination point by the "ghost units".
thumbnail
Most infantry/non-calvary type units can "entrench" (defense bonus) themselves when not moving for a certain period of time - represented by wooden stakes in the middle of the entrenching unit.

In the course of the game you will meet new immortals willing to join your cause...

A major downside in Kohan are the cutscenes. Barely 1-2 minutes long, their existence are merely graphical making the cutscenes a waste of time as it hardly sheds any light to the overall story.
