Windows screenshots
When the CD is loaded it auto-runs and displays this screen. The games can be run directly from the CD or they can be installed to the hard drive.
The games have been installed. As the mouse pointer moves between each game the artwork changes to show the original arcade machine and a screen shot
The games can be customised to a surprising degree from start level, number of lives, when bonuses are awarded and much more.
Action keys and joystick buttons can be redefined
Both games start with a serious warning screen like this
Commando starts with this screen - just like the arcade - except here no coins are needed
The game even has the ridiculously high scores that I could never get close to
One coin inserted
The game starts with Command being flown in. The triangle is the rotor blade - it looks much better when its rotating.
So the chopper lands, Commando gets out and gives a cheery wave, the chopper flies off and Commando gets to work
Two lives lost and a fraction of the way into the game. Oddly Command does not seem to fire when moving or facing in a diagonal direction
On top of that wall is a motorcycle guard and grenade throwing soldiers. My Commando hasn't made it past this bit yet
Gun.Smoke menu screen
Gun.Smoke starts with this screen
The game starts with a Game Over message
Before the game starts it displays a series of wanted posters
The action starts in a typical western town. In contrast top Commando the cowboy only seems to shoot in a diagonal direction.
Shot in the back by a sniper
Didn't get the continuation option in Commando - very welcome it is too
