Funky Python

Funky Python is a rendition of Snake and, as such, the object is to move the python around the screen, eat food and avoid obstacles and its own tail. Point to a spot on the screen and the python will move to that spot.

When Funky eats three of the same colored fruits or insects in a row, they turn orange and are added to his tail. A click of the left mouse button lets him snatch food at a distance with his tongue. As his tail grows longer, it is more challenging to move him across the screen but inches him closer to the end of the level.

Complete Funky's tail before time runs out, all while avoiding hazards, obstacles in the terrain, and getting to the food before the other birds and animals steal it. Animals who try to steal food include monkeys, several species of birds, squirrels, crabs, bears, and sheep. If he bites into his own tail, some life is lost and pieces of it scatter. When all 3 lives are gone, it's game-over.

There are numerous power-ups and bonuses that appear on-screen or float inside bubbles. Eat a red butterfly, for instance, and all of the red orbs in Funky's tail are removed and grouped together to add to his tail.

Power-ups appear in floating bubbles on the screen and should be eaten or bumped into to grab. Some of them are: a red heart (restores life), a bunny (speed up), a frog (slow down), a helmet (invulnerability), magic fruit (change every item to the same color), a clock (adds 30 seconds time).

There are 75 levels through various atmospheres starting with the Jungle. The two modes of play, Arcade and Classic, are similar, both timed and the python loses spheres (and life) when he runs into obstacles. Funky is immortal in Arcade mode, but not in Classic.
