Ikkitōsen: Shining Dragon

Shining Dragon is a 3D action fighting game based on the Ikkitōsen anime franchise created by Yuji Shiozaki, also known as Battle Vixens internationally. Tying in with the events of the anime's second season, it presents an original scenario where a mysterious woman named Chōsen appears, seemingly bent on stealing the powers that heroine Sonsaku Hakufu and her friends possess.

The game plays much like a classic beat-'em-up, only in full 3D. Each character has light and heavy attacks, which can be strung together into various combo attacks, as well as the ability to block enemy attacks. Each character also has a super power mode, which must be charged up by landing hits on the opponent. In most situations, the goal is simply to defeat the opponent without running out of health.

The main Story Mode follows a basic pattern. Each chapter begins with an "adventure" sequence where the characters interact via still images and voice overs, much like a traditional visual novel. This leads into a two-stage fight, where the first part pits the player against a group of weaker enemies, while the second is a one-on-one fight against a boss. After each stage, the player earns points based on their performance, which can be used to upgrade their character's abilities, then the adventure part begins again. There is also a Mission Mode where the player can challenge specific timed objectives.

There are six characters available to choose from in the story mode, each with their own scenario: Sonsaku Hakufu, Ryomō Shimei, Kanu Unchō, Chōun Shiryū, Chōhi Ekitoku, and Ryūbi Gentoku. A further four characters can be unlocked for play in the mission mode: Chōsen, Kakōen Myōsai, Ryofu Hōsen, and Ukitsu. There is also an unlockable mode called Cosplay Mode where the characters wear various special outfits; it is structured like the Scenario Mode, only without the adventure parts.
