The Sims Social

Description

The Sims Social is a human life simulation similar to the previous installments in the Sims series. The player controls a single virtual person who can do a wide variety of actions around the house, usually pertaining to daily routine. The sim can walk around the house and a small plot of land around it. Additionally, the player can add Facebook friends that are also playing the game to the neighbourhood, explore their houses and interact with them. The sim can do many actions, from having a snack, brushing teeth and gardening, to adding a new room to the house and decorating it. The primary goal is to keep the sim inspired in six aspects: social, fun, hunger, bladder, hygiene and sleep. In order to uphold these, the sim must do actions that are related to them, such as playing music to increase the level of fun. When the player is inactive, all of these actions are done automatically.

There are several currencies and resources in Sims Social. Simoleons are the game's main currency and are used to buy most items. They are generated by doing actions and accomplishing tasks. SimCash is usually bought with real money and is used to buy premium items or skip tasks. New players receive a certain amount of SimCash when they start playing the game. Certain special items can only be bought with Social Points, which are acquired by being social in the game. Finally, every action requires one unit of energy. Once it is depleted, the only options are to wait for it to slowly regenerate, ask friends for an energy bar or buy some with SimCash.

The game offers more focus to the gameplay by adding tasks, which are given by neighbours. Except for Bella, all of them are neighbours in name only and it's impossible to visit their abodes. As the player accomplishes tasks, performs actions, earns experience for them and levels up, new neighbours will pop up with fresh tasks.

The sim can be developed in different ways. It possesses traits and skills. Traits, such as Great Kisser, Ninja, Ogre, Steel Bladder etc., offer specific advantages and can only be unlocked by spending the required amount of lifetime points, earned during the game. Skills need to be improved by doing actions related to them, for example writing an email in order to improve the Writing skill. Higher skill levels unlock new objects. Finally the sim can also choose a career, book jobs and get promoted for completing them.
