Block Rogue

Block Rogue mixes Sokoban with elements of a Rogue variant. The player controls Ilbin, a boy with amnesia who find himself stuck in a dungeon. The dungeon is shaped like a triangle and consists of 325 rooms although the player will only pass through 25 of them in a single playthrough. Each room has one entrance and two exits and the exit chosen will determine the player's path through the dungeon. Each room also has a mirror which when interacted with acts as a guide through the game and tells its story. Scattered around the dungeon are also lore pages that give more information on the game's back story. To get them all numerous playthroughs are required.

To unlock the exits of a room and advance through the dungeon, the player has to reposition a number of blocks onto pressure pads. As in Sokoban, the player can push the blocks but not drag them. In addition to the regular blocks there are also roller balls that when pushed won't stop until they hit something. There are also stationary golden blocks that might block the path of the player. These can be lowered by pulling switches, but then other golden blocks will raise. To make things even harder on later levels there are also laser rays which the player cannot touch. If the player gets stuck there are options to restart the room or to undo the last move.

There are two game modes: story and endless. In the story mode the player has to collect the lore pages described above while in endless the player just has to venture as deep into the dungeon as he possibly can. It's possible to choose between a standard set of puzzles that are the same in every playthrough or to have them randomized. There are two different difficulties. Either to start with simple puzzles that gets harder along the way or to have difficult puzzles from the start.
