Mad Mines

Description

Mad Mines is a fixed screen shoot 'em up that includes elements from two other shooters for home computers: Ceiling Zero and Space Eggs. The screen is divided in two part by a force field. On the upper section mines move around until the player shoots them. Then an alien is launched from the mine which flies through the force field to the lower section where it attempts to crash into the player. The aliens are also able to drop bombs at the player. The player simply has to shoot them to prevent this from happening. Once all enemies have been cleared the force field is lowered and a new set of enemies arrives. There are four kinds of enemies and they move in different patterns and at different speed. The enemies of the fourth wave are special since they quickly move straight down towards the player. If they reach the bottom of the screen the player dies even if not directly hit. The player has three ships and an extra is awarded at 2000 points. The game can be played by one or two players.
