Braveland
Description official descriptions
Braveland is a King's Bounty variant, inspired by the same gameplay style of a single hero leading a band of soldiers against enemies in a hexagonal battlefield. The player starts with a warrior's son whose village was raided by a group of bandits. The player needs to help the hero take revenge against the bandits and uncover a greater plot behind the raid on his village.
The game is divided into two areas, the main map and the combat screen. The main map consists of locations where the player may move once per turn. Only adjacent locations are revealed to the player, may they be enemies, allies, shops, obelisks, or other locations of interest. The game has three difficulty settings which may be changed any time during the game.
Hero
The hero determines the strength and size of his army. Leadership determines the size, while his attributes (attack, endurance, and knowledge) determines the offensive and defense bonuses for his troops. The spirit attribute increases fury which allows the hero to cast spells during combat.
His attributes may also be increased by equipment: head gear, body armor, weapons, and a belt slot. Only one equipment of each type may be equipped. Equipment may be purchased at various locations in exchange for gold. When the hero gain experience attainable by winning a battle, if requirements are met, the hero will level up and be able to choose one out of two attribute bonuses (e.g. physical defense or magic defense).
Combat
Combat occurs when the player moves the hero into the same location tile of an enemy unit on the main map. Doing so will take the player to a hexagonal battlefield, with friendly troops on the left side of the screen and enemies on the opposite side. Each side moves units in turn-based combat based on a units initiative. Unit types may have a special attack as well as different stats identifying minimum-maximum damage, health, physical defense, magic defense, speed, and initiative.
The hero does not participate in combat, however may cast spells when his rage counter charges up. Rage increases when units are damaged. Combat ends when one side has been annihilated. Chests are sometimes found on the battlefield as well as gold dropped by some unit types. These items must be obtained during the battle or will disappear after the battle ends.
