Kriss Kross

Kriss Kross is a variation of a crossword game where the player creates new words by playing various word mini games. There are seven different crossword layouts and the game features both English and Swedish word databases. Unlike a traditional crossword, Kriss Kross is more free form and the player can place his words anywhere on the grid as long as they fit with the words that are already in place.

The game screen consists of two parts. On the left is the crossword and to the right is the word box where the available words can be found. The words become available as the player plays the various word games. For each word game completed the player is awarded with a new word. In some multiple words are created but player can choose only one of them to use in the crossword. The word games that exist in the game are: lingo, word tetris, rebus, picture riddle and scramble. The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible by filling as much of the crossword as possible. Points can also be earned by doing well in the word games. As the crossword gets filled the player can get access to various word helpers. For example it's possible to place an arrow key that allows the player to angle a word. It's also possible to add pictures and extra letters.

There are seven different topic categories: science, culture and media, history and society, sports, animals and nature, entertainment and geography. Two different game modes exist: Kriss which is a short round where one crossword is played with mixed topics and Kross which is a large game where the player has to play through seven crosswords each with its own topic.
