Description

Robot Rescue Revolution is a top-down puzzle game where robots have to be guided through mazes towards an exit. Mazes consists of a single screen and the robots can move in any of four directions, which are the only controls to the game. The multiple robots are controlled simultaneously and as they are in different parts of the maze, the player needs to coordinate the actions, using buttons and avoiding levels, to have them reach the exit one by one where they disappear. To complete a level a certain number of robots (usually all of them) needs to reach the exit. As soon as one dies the entire level needs to be restarted. A score is calculated based on the time required and the amount of moves made.

Game elements include doors of different colours opened by the corresponding touch-sensitive buttons or switches located elsewhere, teleporters, conveyor belts with automatic movement, a cloning machine to create new copies of robots, glue to skip an action, traps such as electricity, flames, dematerialization, mines, explosives, dynamite (with a detonator), teslas, ditches, trapdoors etc., and exits in a specific colour after robots have been sprayed. It also has some Soko-Ban elements where objects need to be moved.

Games can be played in single-player, or in local multiplayer where two players work together or go against each other on a single screen, each controlling their own robots in either identical levels for each side (free-for-all) or in a single environment (co-op). The game consists of three worlds (Jungle, Winter Wonderland, and Hi-Tech) with about 95 maps in total for single-player unlocked gradually, including 15 interactive tutorial levels. Levels have one of five ratings based on the difficulty level. The two-player mode offers 45 levels. There is a level editor to create and share custom levels. The colour of the robots can be customized in a separate screen.
