The install process puts the eGames game browser onto the player's machine. from here the player can both launch the game and access this help file which opens in a separate window
The game starts up with this window. The jigsaw preview window has been updated but is still similar to the original Puzzle Master
The 'Tips' screen in Puzzle Master 2 is identical to Puzzle Master 1
This shows the optional ghost picture
It also shows how the player configures the game via the menu bar, in this case to make the pieces look thicker
Another new feature is the ability to change the size and style of the pieces during a game
This shows the in-game tip that explains it and the relevant game configuration window
Playing a basic game
By default all the pieces are the right way up but the game will scramble them if required. The pieces will automatically align themselves when placed in the correct position
When a jigsaw is near completion the player may find some pieces are missing. They are usually underneath the main picture and can be found by moving the main picture
The puzzle has been completed.
The Advanced game options window.
This pane allows the player to select which of the game's tunes is played during a game
Some players may prefer to ditch the ghost image and use a thumbnail image instead
The game can automatically arrange the pieces for the player, here they have been arranged in a grid
Some of the game's player aids. Finding and/or fetching the piece that fits next to the pieces being worked on is classed as cheating - but it helps a lot
The Auto-solve feature is great for players who don't like working on vast expanses of sea and sky
A game completed using the auto-solve feature is classed as a game in which the player cheated
