Salvage Youth
Description
Salvage Youth is a short game created by a group of students at the DigiPen Institute of Technology. In the future the Earth became so cluttered up with garbage, that humanity left for another planet, leaving the Earth in the hands of clean-up bots. However, three kids are left behind, and now they need to salvage parts of the rocket and catch up with their parents.
The game plays as a side-scrolling platformer with puzzle-solving elements. All three kids are in game at the same time and the player can switch between them at any moment, a concept similar to The Lost Vikings. Each kid has unique abilities needed to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles: Jenny can fix things, Stu can pick and throw objects, and Dustin can sprint and double-jump. The goal of the game is to collect 43 rocket parts scattered around neighborhood. The game generally can be finished in a couple of hours.
