Trivia

Development

The game was originally called Death to Spies 3: Ghost of Moscow as the third installment in the Death to Spies series. However, failing two crowd-funding attempts, first through Indiegogo and then Kickstarter, it eventually attracted the attention of the publisher Maximum Games. They asked to rename the game Alekhine's Gun with Agent Alekhine as the codename of the series' protagonist Semyon. The game concept was also reworked from three characters to just one as in the original two games.

Title

The title is a reference to the chess formation Alekhine's gun, named after the former World Chess Champion, Alexander Alekhine. The game's protagonist is a Russian KGB colonel.
